Brightpoint Inc. announced Wednesday morning that it has opened a "reverse logistics" and repair center in a 200,000-square-foot
building in Plainfield.
The Indianapolis-based wireless phone distributor said subsidiary Brightpoint North America LP will operate the center, which
will provide returns management, testing, diagnostics, repair and refurbishment, and asset recovery services.
The center is Brightpoint’s third reverse logistics and repair facility. The others are in Puerto Rico and Forth Worth,
Texas.
Reverse logistics involves activity associated with a product or service after the point of sale.
In 2010, Brightpoint handled about 99 million wireless devices globally.
