Christie Kelly, one of the city’s top female executives, is leaving Duke Realty Corp. for Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle.

Kelly is set to become chief financial officer at Jones Lang LaSalle on July 1, the company announced Thursday. She has held the same position at Duke since 2009.

Kelly is credited with playing a critical role at Duke in helping the company keep a strong financial position during the recession and economic recovery.

She previously was senior vice president of the Global Real Estate Group at Lehman Brothers. Before that, Kelly spent 20 years at General Electric Co. in operational financial management.

Kelly built quite a business resume during her time in Indianapolis, landing board positions at Butler University Business School, National Bank of Indianapolis, Kite Realty and Park Tudor School Trust.

She was recognized as one of the Women of Influence by IBJ in 2012.

Mark Denien, Duke’s senior vice president and chief accounting officer, will succeed Kelly at Duke. He joined Duke in 2005 after 16 years at KMPG in Indianapolis.

Duke shares were down 6 cents Friday afternoon, to $18.59 each, near a 52-week high.
