Apparently Mickey Maurer hit a nerve in his Aug. 18 column regarding Pence’s position on children looking for a better life [Pence letter, Aug. 25].
I never said that, cries Pence. Well, is it not your position to halt this inflow and to use the situation to build a bridge to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. by bashing the current occupant of that residence? Is it not true the “civilized world” did in fact refuse entry to European Jews, which led to their demise?
