More than 200 workers will lose their jobs when packaging materials maker Printpack Inc. will close its Greensburg plant early next year, the company said in a notice filed this week with the state Department of Workforce Development.

Atlanta-based Printpack said the layoffs will begin around Jan. 20. The plant employs 230.

Founded in 1956, Printpack operates 28 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Poland and China. Last year, it opened a $52 million plant in Bloomington to replace a 150-employee factory it planned to close there.

  • Really?
It seems to be easier said than done. only 47 laid off ,so far, in printpacks only union plant- seems greensburg facility has to keep taking up the slack from bloomington and other plants who produce lesser quality product.
