Horizon Bancorp, 515 Franklin Square, Michigan City, Ind. 46360, operates as Horizon Bank and Heartland Community Bank. It entered the central Indiana market in 2012 by buying Heartland Community Bank of Franklin for $14 million. Heartland has the No. 1 deposit market share in Johnson County. In the first nine months of 2012, Horizon Bancorp earned $14.4 million, or $1.75 a share. In the same period a year earlier, the company earned $8.0 million, or $1.05 a share.
