MainGate signs merchandising deal with U.S. Golf Association

The U.S. Golf Association recently signed a three-year deal with Indianapolis-based MainGate Inc. in which MainGate will operate the merchandise website and catalog program for the USGA.

The relationship began this month with the launch of the website USGAshop.com and the production and distribution of the fall merchandise catalog, which will feature golf apparel and accessories with the 2011 U.S. Open logo. The 2011 U.S. Open will be held June 13-19 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.

“We’re excited to offer easier online navigation, high-quality licensed merchandise from well-known golf brands and top-notch customer service,” said Mary Lopuszynski, director of licensing and U.S. Open merchandising for the USGA.

In addition to the new USGA merchandise line, e-commerce development and catalog program, MainGate will handle all fulfillment, marketing and management of USGAshop.com.

MainGate handles making and selling licensed goods for a bevy of big-name sports properties, including the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets, Indy Racing League, National Hot Rod Association, Danica Patrick and others.
