Federal-Mogul Corp., a manufacturer of fuel systems, announced Tuesday morning that it plans to add 100 jobs in Logansport next year as part of a $2.7 million expansion.
The Southfield, Mich.-based company said the investment will go toward purchasing new machinery and equipment for its 170,000-square-foot manufacturing plant and adjacent 15,000-square-foot technical center.
Federal-Mogul will begin hiring for assembly and manufacturing jobs early next year. The company currently has 300 employees in Indiana.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said it will provide Federal-Mogul up to $450,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $76,400 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans. The city of Logansport has approved additional property-tax abatements.
Founded in 1899, the company originally sold mill supplies and rubber goods. With 45,000 employees in 35 states, Federal-Mogul annually sells $6.2 billion in fuel systems for the automotive, commercial, aerospace and agricultural industries.
