Home-sale agreements in the nine-county Indianapolis area rose 7.2 percent in November, marking the seventh straight month of year-over-year increases, according to a report released Monday morning by F.C. Tucker Co. Inc., the city's largest real estate agency.
Pended home sales in the area increased to 1,407 last month, 94 more than in November 2010, the agency said.
Year-to-date sales agreements are down just 0.2 percent from the same 11-month period of 2010.
“As the year comes to a close, we are poised to end in the slightly positive territory on a year-to-year basis of existing home sales in the Indianapolis area,” F.C. Tucker President Jim Litten said in a prepared statement.
Marion County saw a 6.1-percent increase in November sales agreements from a year earlier, from 602 to 639.
The number of Hamilton County deals rose 11.7 percent, from 265 to 296, and in Johnson County, they were up 12.8 percent, from 109 to 123.
In Hendricks County, agreements declined 15.8 percent, to 101 from 120.
Available homes for sale in the nine-county region dropped 14.3 percent in November, with 13,098 houses on the market. Marion County’s inventory fell 15.4 percent.
The average sale price of a home in the area increased last month 1.5 percent, to $152,530.
