As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIndy Brew Bus LLC, which offers beer-tasting tours to craft breweries in Broad Ripple and downtown, is adding a south-side route, the company announced Thursday.
Starting March 1, the business will begin offering Sunday tours to four breweries in Johnson County: Taxman Brewing Co. in Bargersville, and Mashcraft Brewing, Planetary Brewing Co. and Oaken Barrel Brewing Co. in Greenwood.
Indy Brew Bus was started in March 2012 by owners Andy and Megan Bulla as a one-bus operation that offered two Saturday tours each week.
With the latest expansion, the business will have three buses making 12 weekly tours and employing seven part-time drivers. Each tour carries up to 14 passengers.
South-side tours will begin and end at Shallo's Antique Restaurant & Brewhaus at 8811 Hardegan St., in Indianapolis. The three-hour $30 tours include up to 25 samples of craft beer, bottles of water, on-board coolers to keep purchased beer cold and a sampling scorecard. Tickets can be purchased on the company's website.
"We're looking forward to the opportunity of introducing locals and visitors alike to even more Indiana craft beer options," Megan Bulla said in a written statement. "Johnson County has some terrific craft breweries that we hope our guests will enjoy as much as we do."
