Former Indiana Supreme Court Justice Ted Boehm has joined Hoover Hull Turner LLP as a partner, the local law firm announced Monday morning.

Boehm, 76, retired from the court in September 2010 after serving 14 years on the bench. He’s enjoyed quite a distinguished career, both as a legal and civic leader.

Ted Boehm geadshot Ted Boehm.

He’s been a managing partner at Baker & Daniels (now Faegre Baker Daniels LLP), general counsel for two divisions of General Electric, and counsel for Eli Lilly and Co.; argued two cases before the U.S. Supreme Court (won one, lost one); drafted the legislation that created White River State Park; and helped bring the Pan Am Games to Indianapolis in 1987 and the FIBA World Basketball Championship in 2002.

“I don’t plan to visit the office just to read the Wall Street Journal or make lunch plans with my friends and colleagues,” Boehm said in a statement about his new job. “I’m ready to go to work and am energized by the talent, drive and vision of the lawyers at Hoover Hull Turner.”

Most recently, Boehm helped mediate cases for the local Van Winkle Baten Dispute Resolution firm.

Boehm is the second significant hire for Hoover Hull in the past two months. In January, Wayne C. Turner, who chaired the litigation group at Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, joined forces with John David Hoover and Andrew W. Hull to create Hoover Hull Turner.
