A startup manufacturer plans to invest $2.5 million to lease and equip a production facility in the northeast Indiana city
of Angola, creating as many as 140 jobs.
Fuel Systems of Angola, which will make automotive recreational fuel components, is leasing an existing 140,000-square-foot
building.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced the company’s plans Monday evening. It also said Angola-based Steffy
Wood Products will spend $2.3 million expand its operations there, adding 38 jobs.
Steffy already employs more than 50 workers who make wood furniture for schools and day care centers.
Both companies plan to begin hiring later this summer and said they will add more jobs by 2013.
IEDC offered up to $750,000 in performance-based tax credits based on Fuel Systems of Angola’s job creation plans.
Steffy could get up to $80,000 in tax credits and up to $20,000 in training grants.
The city of Angola will provide property tax abatement for both projects at the request of the Steuben County Economic Development
Corp.
