The city is working on distributing a documentary that highlights some of Indianapolis’ best sustainable building practices.
The hour-long film, dubbed “Green Building in Indianapolis: Creating a Sustainable Future,” was released on You
Tube last month. It’s narrated by Mayor Greg Ballard and green living expert/TV host Sara Snow and features buildings
in the city that incorporate green building practices.
Among those are the headquarters for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, the conservation group The Nature Conservancy, and the
new Wishard Memorial Hospital project.

The city has ordered a batch of DVDs and plans to give them to those who are active in the city’s environmentalist
community.
The Nature Conservancy is planning to host a screening of the documentary at its facility at 620 E. Ohio St. The group last
spring moved into the building, which is touted for attributes such as a green roof and geothermal wells that provide heating
and cooling.
Adam McLane, the group’s director of operations, said the building uses 43 percent less energy and 80 percent less
water than traditionally constructed facilities. The Nature Conservancy is aiming to achieve for its headquarters the highest
level of LEED certification available.
