Mayor seeks your suggestions

The city of Indianapolis wants your ideas. So it has created an online suggestion box.

The newly created Indy Ideas Web site and the Neighborhood Association Council are both intended to encourage participation in local government.

“No one knows this community better than the people who live in it, so we want to use this as a tool to reach out to individuals and give them the opportunity to share with us their ideas … ,” said Mayor Greg Ballard.

The Indy Ideas Web site is www.indy.gov/ideas. It solicits creative proposals on how Indianapolis ought to confront its public challenges.

All ideas will be evaluated by locally based Third Street Partners to determine the level of public benefit, viability, sustainability and the potential for incremental revenue.

The Neighborhood Association Council will comprise members of the Marion County Alliance of Neighborhood Associations and other citizen groups. Its purpose will be to provide feedback to the city as it pursues revenue-generating corporate partnership opportunities.•
