A handful of new restaurants is moving into downtown, including:

• New Orleans on the Avenue, a casual Southern Creole restaurant set to take over the vacant former home of Zing at 543 Indiana Ave. Owners Bridget Brown and Brian Marcelin plan entrees such as jambalaya, crawfish etouffee sausage and chicken gumbo, similar to the offerings of Bourbon Street Distillery only a few blocks away.

• Greek’s Pizzeria, which is taking over the former home of King David Dogs in the first block of North Pennsylvania Street. King David moved about a block north to M&I Plaza. Next door, Edible Arrangements is moving into the former home of Blimpie Sub Sandwiches.

• Starbucks, which is replacing the downtown stalwart 40 West Coffee Cafe at the Omni Severin Hotel. The cafe has served breakfast and lunch from its lobby location for more than a decade.

Meantime, Papa Roux has opened an outpost in City Market and Ali Baba’s Café has set up shop in the former Tea Cozy spot along Market Street west of Illinois Street.
