Delta expanding operations in central Indiana

July 16, 2013

Indianapolis-based Delta Faucet Co. plans to expand operations in Decatur County, adding up to 160 workers by 2014, the company announced Tuesday.

Delta said it plans to spend about $12 million to renovate and equip its 380,000-square-foot facility at 1425 West Main St. in Greensburg, about 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis. The facility currently has about 140 employees.

The renovation will allow Delta to manufacture shower products and acrylic bathtubs at the site, it said.

"Delta Faucet Co. has had operations in Greensburg since our founder, Alex Manoogian, opened a plant there in 1959, so we are pleased to be able to bring this growth to a community where we have such a long, rich history," Rick Marshall, Delta's vice president of operations and supply chain management, said in a prepared statement.

The company said it will begin hiring production workers, assemblers, material handlers, maintenance and quality technicians, engineers, team leaders, and support associates later this year.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Delta up to $1 million in conditional tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans. Decatur County approved additional tax abatement.

Delta, a division of Taylor, Mich.-based Masco Corp., has 500 employees in Indiana and more than 1,700 worldwide.
