Another bowling-anchored entertainment and dining venue is opening in the building near the north-side Rivers Edge Shopping Center last occupied by Latitude 360.

Dallas, Texas-based Main Event Entertainment hopes to open by the end of February, a spokeswoman for the company said.

The location, at 4016 E. 82nd St., is listed on Main Event’s website. And an alcohol permit application listing Main Event as the applicant hangs in the window of the building.

The building has been vacant for a year. Latitude 360 closed in January 2016. The company announced the closure and another in Jacksonville, Florida, in a press release. The local closing was part of a settlement with landlord 30 West Pershing LLC, which was owed about $3.1 million in unpaid rent.

The venue opened in 2012 as Latitude 39.

Main Event dubs itself as the fastest-growing, bowling-anchored entertainment organization in the country. Founded in 1998, it has 31 outposts, with nearly half of those in Texas.

Besides bowling, Main Event offers more than 100 arcade games, laser tag and billiards, in addition to a custom menu and full-service bar.

J. Crew smallAlso in Rivers Edge, J. Crew is opening a J. Crew Mercantile store next to Nordstrom Rack and in part of the space formerly occupied by Wild Birds Unlimited.

J. Crew Mercantile features clothing at discount prices once only available in J. Crew Factory stores. J. Crew Factory is the name of the company’s chain of outlet stores. The only one in Indiana is at Edinburgh Premium Outlets near Columbus.

The first J. Crew Mercantile location opened in July 2015 in Dallas.
