Columbia Club hosts IBJ photo shoot
The Columbia Club, a historic private club in the heart of downtown, hosted this year’s Forty Under 40 photo and video shoots.
Founded in 1889 by a contingent of boosters of Benjamin Harrison’s presidential campaign the year before, the Columbia Club is ranked among the top city clubs in the Midwest and across the country.
It has hosted political figures and celebrities such as Presidents Eisenhower, George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush, as well as noted aviator Charles Lindbergh and Hoosier composer Hoagy Carmichael.
Its current home in the northeast quadrant of Monument Circle is its third. Dedicated in October 1925, the exterior of the building features Bedford limestone carved by sculptor Alexander Sangernebo. The interior, with rich wood tones and marble, creates a warm, inviting environment.
IBJ photographer Chad Williams used the main lobby’s two-story stone fireplace as the backdrop for the cover photo, which features honorees Patrick Klooz, Jeremy Wolley, Michelle Carrera, Lindsay Gramlich and Kim DalSanto.
IBJ thanks the staff of The Columbia Club for being gracious hosts.•

IBJ asked our Forty Under 40 honorees, “How do you unwind or de-stress?”
Here’s a sample of what they had to say.

“I enjoy spending time with my family. They are the ultimate stress relief and allow me to truly disconnect from my professional obligations.”
— JEREMY WOLLEY

“I strongly believe there’s nothing a good book — especially thrillers and mysteries — a true crime documentary or reality TV, and kitchen dance parties with my kids can’t fix.”
— MACKENZIE WHITE

“I like staying active, whether it’s playing pickleball or getting in a round of golf. I also love to travel. Experiencing new places and cultures gives me perspective and helps reset my thinking.”
— TAMMY WILLIAMS
Patrick Klooz
Founder, Klooz Brewz Brewery and Public House
Co-founder, Hoosier Homestyle Catering, Bonk Pizza and Backroom Cigars
IBJ asked our Forty Under 40 honorees, “How do you define success?”
Here’s a sample of what they had to say.
“I define success by the legacy you leave behind. You can perform and put up numbers, but records are meant to be broken. What lasts is the impact you have on people and the example you set.”
— VINCENT ASH JR.
“I define success as living a life that feels whole. It’s knowing I’ve used my skills to help strengthen the people and places I care about, whether through mentoring others or investing in organizations that matter. Success, to me, is also being present for my family, building a home where my daughters see love, hard work, kindness, and integrity modeled every day, and looking back one day knowing I showed up fully in both my career and my life.”
— KIM DALSANTO
“Success is alignment — when your professional excellence, personal values, and community impact all point in the same direction. It’s achieved by building something that outlasts you.”
— BJ GRIMES

IBJ asked our Forty Under 40 honorees,
“Tell us about an influential book you’ve read.”
Here’s a sample of what they had to say.

“The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry” by John Mark Comer
— CHRISTINE ZETZL

“‘Security Analysis’ by Benjamin Graham and any book written by Randy Barnett.”
— THOMAS J. LYONS III

“For all the parents of young children out there: Sometimes it’s the simplest children’s book that can be the most impactful — ‘The Rabbit Listened’ by Cori Doerrfeld.”
— KYLE T. RESETARITS

“Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear” by Elizabeth Gilbert
— MO GLUNT
“Is it cliché to say ‘Moneyball’? The book (and the movie) helped me realize that the skills I was developing at the Tippie School of Business at the University of Iowa could translate directly to basketball. Instead of valuing a stock or a business unit, I could value an NBA draft pick, a contract or even a win. It’s a classic for a reason — and a must‑read for any aspiring analyst.”
— SPENCER ANDERSON
