Founded in 2003, the Fort Recovery designs agricultural buildings and equipment. It launched SolarAg late last year to develop and produce solar collectors and equipment.
It plans to invest $1.9 million to renovate its 60,000-square-foot building to accommodate research, development and production of solar thermal collector panels.
The company said it will begin hiring managers, salespeople and production employees once upgrades are completed in the fall.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Fort Recovery Construction & Equipment up to $535,000 in performance-based tax credits based on the company’s job-creation plans. The city of Portland has approved additional property-tax abatement at the request of the Jay County Development Corp.
