Midway Produce Inc. in Indianapolis has been acquired by U.S. Foodservice Inc., the Rosemont, Ill.-based company announced on Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

U.S. Foodservice said in a news release that the purchase will enable its Indianapolis division to make more frequent deliveries to customers requiring specialty produce products while providing Midway’s clients with access to U.S. Foodservice’s full line of national brands.

Founded in 1999, Midway Produce is led by Harry Marx, who will serve as produce manager for U.S. Foodservice-Indianapolis. Midway mostly distributes produce to restaurants, health care facilities and schools throughout central Indiana.

With $19 billion in annual revenue, U.S. Foodservice has 25,000 employees in 60 locations nationwide.
