Veteran journalist Kevin Finch is filling the news director vacancy at WRTV-TV Channel 6.
Finch’s first day at WRTV is April 11.
Finch replaces Sheldon Ripson, who joined WRTV in late 2008 and departed last month. Finch is one of the first hires for
the station’s new general manager, Larry Blackerby, who replaced Don Lundy earlier this year.
Finch comes to WRTV from Calamari Productions, a video production house, where he wrote and produced documentaries
for cable networks.

Before joining Calamari, Finch spent six years at WISH-TV Channel 8, where he was assistant news director before being promoted
to news director in 2007.
Before that, he spent 13 years at WTHR-TV Channel 13, where he was executive producer of special projects and news co-brands.
Finch has his work cut out for him at WRTV, as the station trails WTHR and WISH in almost all local news time slots.
