There has been significant discussion this summer about gay rights and marriage equality. Specifically in Indiana, House Joint Resolution 6, the amendment that would permanently alter Indiana’s Constitution to define marriage, has produced strong emotions on both sides.
Arguably one of the most passionate and polarizing debates in the General Assembly this session is the allocation of the transportation budget. Gov. Mike Pence and many legislators agree that money should be spent on repairing deteriorating roads and constructing new highways.
The Republican Party needs a makeover. After the devastating losses suffered Nov. 6, pundits and politicos alike are asking one question: What will become of the party? As a 21-year-old who will be voting for many years to come, I think the party must make major changes to remain relevant and attract votes of future generations.

Joe Donnelly needs a lesson in economics. Donnelly’s campaign advertisements say he’s “about jobs and balanced budgets,” but throughout Donnelly’s time in Congress, the public debt has increased $7.3 billion and every American citizen’s individual share of the debt is now $51,823. He voted to increase the debt ceiling five times. In Donnelly’s last two terms alone, net private-sector jobs have decreased a half million.
