Indianapolis-based Centerfield Capital Partners announced on Wednesday its investment in Fresh Food Concepts Inc., a California-based
manufacturer and distributor of refrigerated fresh food products.
Centerfield declined to disclose the amount of the investment.
Fresh Food Concepts was purchased Dec. 1 by an investor group led by Ancor Capital Partners in Fort Worth, Texas. Centerfield
led the subordinated debt financing for the deal and provided a “significant” equity co-investment.
Fresh Food Concepts’ products include fresh salsa, layered dips and seafood salads. The company’s products are
sold nationally through grocers, supermarkets and wholesale clubs.
Centerfield has invested in 32 companies since 2001. Its investment in Fresh Food Concepts is the 12th from the venture capital
firm’s second fund, Centerfield Capital Partners II LP.
