The Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission on Wednesday approved an eight-year tax abatement for Beckman Coulter
Inc. as part of the California-based life sciences firm’s expansion plans.
Beckman Coulter is planning its third local expansion since 2007, investing $18 million in its Indianapolis
operations and adding as many as 95 jobs at an average wage of $24 an hour in the next three years.
The company, which makes biomedical testing equipment, plans to begin hiring manufacturing associates immediately for its
facilities at 5355 W. 76th St. and 5550 Lakeview Parkway. It also will add employees in field service, engineering and general
business roles.
The eight-year tax abatement is expected to save the company a total of $867,711.
