More than 75 employees of Ditan Distribution LLC will lose their jobs when the Toronto-based distributor closes its Plainfield
facility this summer.
The permanent layoffs will occur in three phases beginning June 18 and lasting until Aug. 5, the company said in a notice
posted on the website of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on Tuesday.
Ditan provided no reason for the closing of the distribution center on Whitaker Road near Interstate 70 and Ronald Reagan
Parkway.
A total of 76 workers will lose their jobs, the company said, including 19 managers, 12 administrative employees, two IT
workers and 40 distribution workers.
Ditan specializes in direct-to-store distribution mostly for manufacturers, publishers and major retail chains.
The company also has distribution centers in Louisville, Atlanta and Seattle.
