Franklin University of Ohio hired Michael Szakaly to serve as dean of its new Indianapolis campus,
the not-for-profit educator announced today.
Szakaly most recently served as the business school dean at Ivy Tech Community College's east-central region, which includes Anderson, Marion and Muncie.
Szakaly will oversee day-to-day operations in Indianapolis and try to form partnerships with local chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and other universities to shape Franklin's adult-education programs.
Franklin recently settled a marketing dispute with Franklin College of Indiana, which serves primarily 18- to 22-year-old students.
