The University of Phoenix will maintain its campus in Indianapolis, a company spokesman confirmed, even as the operator of
for-profit colleges closes more than half its campuses nationwide.
Ryan Rauzon, a spokesman for Arizona-based Apollo Group Inc., the parent company of the Unviersity of Phoenix, said the Indianapolis
campus would not be affected by the sweeping closures and job cuts elsewhere.
Apollo Group announced plans last week to close 115 campuses—half its total—and cut 800 jobs.
About 3,000 students enrolled this fall at the University of Phoenix’s Indianapolis campus. The campus, in an office
building off Interstate 465 near Castleton Square Mall, opened locally in 2003.
