ago, according to a report released today by F.C. Tucker Co.
Pending home sales fell from 2,330 in June 2008 to
2,298 in June 2009, the Indianapolis-based real estate company said.
Year-to-date, the decline is steeper, with
pending sales falling 10.6 percent over the first six months of 2008.
The average sale price fell 6.9 percent,
from $145,424 in June 2008 to $135,408 this June. Every county saw prices decline.
June home-sale agreements fell
in seven of the area’s nine counties. They rose 14.9 percent in Johnson County, from 174 to 200, and increased 4.9 percent
in Marion County, from 1,072 to 1,124.
The 20-percent drop in Hancock County was the largest decrease in the area,
as sales contracts fell from 85 to 68. Hamilton and Hendricks counties also registered double-digit drops.
