From a business reporter's perspective, the year 2012 came with memorable bookends.

From January to early February, the IBJ's focus was squarely on Super Bowl XLVI and how Indianapolis would handle its role as host. And in late November, the paper's staff documented the sentencing of former Indy financier Tim Durham and two associates, charged with running a Ponzi scheme that lost more than $200 million in investor funds. Both stories were among the biggest of the new millenium.

But between the gridiron hashmarks and courtroom sessions, we covered tectonic changes to several industries and Indianapolis-area institutions that will be felt for years to come. As we prepared our final issue for 2012, IBJ's reporters and editors ranked the top 10 stories for the year. The results are in the video below.
