Rolls-Royce is courting customers for its RR500TS helicopter engine, unveiled recently at Heli-Expo in Anaheim, Calif.

If successful, the product could mean more work for a small engine-assembly line in Indianapolis that the Federal Aviation
Administration certified in early 2008.

The RR500TS is the second iteration of a turbo-prop engine Rolls-Royce unveiled in 2008. A spokeswoman said the company is
still looking for customers for both new engines.

The core of the RR500 is a scaled version of the RR300, which was launched in 2007 to power the Robinson R66 helicopter. Rolls-Royce’s
small-engine assembly line in Indianapolis is building and testing the RR300, and could simultaneously produce the RR500.
