Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction has notified the state that it will close a manufacturing plant in Logansport, resulting
in the loss of 118 jobs.
Carlisle, a division of Bloomington-based Motion Control Industries Inc., informed the
Indiana Department of Workforce Development of the closure on Monday.
The majority of operations will end by Dec.
23, although the plant will not close entirely until about March 31, the company said.
Carlisle supplies brakes
to companies making products ranging from mining equipment to washing machines to elevators.
Most of the employees
at the Logansport plant are represented by the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial
and Service Workers union.
