Canadian-based Conforce International Inc., a manufacturer of composite flooring systems for the transportation industry, plans to locate an Indiana plant in Peru and create up to 175 jobs by 2013.

The company said on Wednesday that it also plans to invest more than $13.8 million to purchase and equip the 155,000-square-foot facility, which would be the company’s first location in the United States. Peru is in Miami County and north of Kokomo.

Conforce plans to begin hiring employees and supervisors in the first quarter of 2011.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Conforce up to $865,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $57,500 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans. Miami County will consider additional property-tax abatement at the request of the Miami County Economic Development Authority.

Conforce is headquartered in Concord, Ontario. Its flagship product is a composite flooring system for trucks, trailers and shipping containers, which replaces hardwood floors and does not absorb spillage.
