Krieg Bros. Religious Supply House is set to sell its entire inventory, about $400,000 worth, at auction on Monday, Dec.
12.
The well-known downtown Indianapolis fixture is closing Saturday after nearly 120 years in business. It’s been located
in the four-story building it owns at 119 S. Meridian St. since the early 1960s.
The on-site auction will begin at 10 a.m. and will be conducted by Christy’s of Indiana Inc.
Items for sale include numerous statues, Bibles, books and crucifixes.
“This is really selling an institution or an icon here in Indianapolis,” said Jack Christy, president of the
auction firm. “There’s a lot of sentimental value to this particular auction.”
Besides inventory, vintage fixtures such as 100-year-old cabinets will be available, said Christy, who is expecting a large
crowd.
