On The Beat Industry News In Brief

Heavy-truck makers and others who are looking at the latest in air-spring technology will likely tour a new test lab in Fishers when they visit Firestone Industrial Products.

The labs at 9552 E. 121st St. are a consolidation of two that Firestone operated on West 96th Street and at its former manufacturing facility in Noblesville.

The labs, housed in 40,000 square feet, constitute Firestone Industrial Products’ only research and design facility in North America.

“A lot of what we do globally is supported by this operation,” John Vincent, president of the industrial products group, said at an open house April 28.

In addition to a new, cleaner setting, Vincent said, labs will be more convenient for the engineers who work at the Firestone Industrial Products headquarters at 250 W. 96th St.
