Fort Wayne plant closing to leave 118 jobless

Marietta, Ga.-based Graphic Packaging International Inc. has notified the state that it will cut 118 jobs by closing its plant in Fort Wayne.

The company informed the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on Tuesday that the job cuts will begin Jan. 3 and last until June 30, the date the plant is scheduled to close. The notice was posted on the state agency’s Web site on Thursday.

Graphic Packaging is a publicly traded company that has more than 50 locations and 15,000 employees worldwide.

The company gave no reason for the plant closing.
