Indiana’s major research universities—Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame—all landed in the latest ranking of
the top 200 universities in the world.
Notre Dame can claim bragging rights over its in-state peers and Purdue can claim a victory over its rival IU.
Notre Dame ranked No. 63 on the list, released by Timer Higher Education. The magazine uses data from Thomson Reuters
to score each school on teaching, research citations and volume, industry income and international representation among students
and staff.
Purdue came in at No. 106 and IU ranked No. 156.
The top five universities in the world are all American: Harvard, California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, Stanford and Princeton.
