to airport parking.
Indy Park Ride & Fly, the airport’s largest private competitor, opened its 2,312-space lot in time to serve the first
customers
traveling from the new midfield terminal. Hendricks County approved the zoning for the $9 million lot earlier this year.
Parent company Park Ride Fly USA, which also owns off-site lots serving Chicago Midway Airport and Albany, N.Y., invested
part of that $9 million in some amenities to appeal to business travelers.
The main feature of the lot is a service garage, where travelers can leave their cars for oil changes or other work while
they’re away. The service garage is not yet open, a spokeswoman said.
The company is offering an automatic payment service called "Indy BizExpress Fast Pass." Paying members will get
a transponder
that automatically opens lot gates, lights the way to a parking spot, and sends bills online.
Park Ride Fly USA has closed the lots that served the old terminal, Indy Park Ride & Fly and 1st Class Express, a spokeswoman
said.
