Tenn. Owens, a full-time volunteer who was one of the local festival’s founders, will be the artistic director for the Nashville
Film Festival, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2009 and drew 24,000 attendees last year.
Owens, who moves to Nashville Nov. 15, will still be available as a "programming consultant."
"We will be looking for an executive director in the near future," he said. (The festival still has to raise enough
money
to hire its first paid director.)
In the meantime, festival board President Dorothy Henckel will take over day-to-day operations. Traditionally a spring event,
the festival will run July 15-25 next year.
