The Indiana State AFL-CIO has elected its legal counsel as its new president.
The labor union said Tuesday that
Nancy Guyott (GIE'-ott) was elected during the group's state convention last week. She replaces the retiring Ken Zeller, who's
been president since 1998.
Guyott is the first woman to be president of the Indiana AFL-CIO.
The Indiana
AFL-CIO is a federation of 800 local unions across the state belonging to 50 International unions. It represents more than
300,000 working Hoosiers.
Guyott has served as the AFL-CIO's counsel for five years. She also spent 12 years with
the Indiana Department of Labor, serving as its commissioner from 2003 to 2005.

Its stories like these that prove that a Ball State diploma is worth less than the paper that its printed on. A real institution of higher learning would have taken care of this long ago. No way should this crap be taught in a SCIENCE class.

When a an arrogant young guy with essentially no experience and no qualifications for the job, was dropped into an Administrator position out of nowhere by his "mentor" in the Mayor's office things seemed fishy. Sometimes things are what they seem.
