The Indianapolis Indians ended their season Sept. 5, with the franchise’s largest crowd of the year, a standing-room-only
sellout of 15,461.
The Tribe attracted 549,552 fans (8,202 per game) to Victory Field this season—its
third-best average since 2001.
The Indians also averaged more than 10,000 fans per game during a 19-game stretch
July 20-Aug. 23 and had seven contests in front of at least 13,000.
On Aug. 21, Victory Field welcomed its 8 millionth
fan since the gates opened in July 1996. Only one other team in the International League has drawn more than that over the
same time period.
