Indianapolis-based Business Furniture LLC, the city's largest office furniture dealer, announced Monday morning that
it has expanded into Ohio by acquiring the operations of Everybody’s Workplace Solutions Inc. in Dayton.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1906, Everybody’s Workplace Solutions has 50 employees and operates from an 84,000-square-foot warehouse
in Dayton.
Business Furniture’s arrival in the Ohio market follows its expansion last June into Iowa and central and upstate Illinois that company
officials predicted would double sales within five years.
Business Furniture, founded in 1922, has about 85 employees and had $43.6 million in revenue in 2011, according to the company.
"The expansion of our business model into Ohio is a tremendous opportunity," Richard Oakes, chairman of Business
Furniture said. "Everybody's Workplace Solutions is an award-winning Steelcase dealer, and merging into a successful
operating marketplace adds another entity as we grow to become a larger company in the contract furniture industry. This expansion
will strengthen our corporate headquarters in Indianapolis and solidify our position as a company promoting doing business
from Indiana."
