Duke Energy Corp. is preparing to demolish a coal-fired power plant that's Indiana's oldest electricity-generating
plant of its kind.
The plant near the White River town of Edwardsport went online in 1918, the Vincennes Sun-Commercial reported.
Duke Energy took the southwestern Indiana plant offline last spring. Next month, crews will begin demolishing the structure,
which is dwarfed in size by the $3 billion coal-gasification plant Duke is building nearby.
Company spokesman Lew Middleton said Duke will turn the site into a storage area for burned coal, or slag, produced by the
new plant.
The Edwardsport power plant was Indiana's first large-scale electricity generating plant. It was built by the Indiana
Power Company to provide power for the inter-urban trains that once linked many of Indiana's cities and towns.

For those who let this information strike a nerve, remember that this is still the America that allows the freedom to achieve dreams and goals. Should you really chastise those who are given a perk on a deal that is supported by the consumer (that is until they don't like the deal anymore due to envy) or should the dream of rewards for working be looked at a little closer? I say lets stick to the deal, go to work,earn our keep, shoot for dreams, change our jobs to have that dream or shut up about others achievements ..............while we are still afforded this liberty of America !
