Fort Wayne-based Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Co., an insurance provider for churches and related ministries, announced Thursday morning that it plans to add 102 jobs by 2016 as part of a $15 million expansion.

The company said the investment will go toward constructing and equipping a 54,395-square-foot facility on its 30-acre campus in Fort Wayne. The building, which will be connected to Brotherhood Mutual’s existing headquarters via a skywalk, will provide additional office and training space for staff. It is expected to be operational by early 2014.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said it will provide Brotherhood Mutual up to $875,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans. The city of Fort Wayne has approved additional property tax abatements.

Founded in 1917 in Grabill northeast of Fort Wayne, Brotherhood Mutual employs more than 300 people at its headquarters and serves more than 40,000 churches and ministries in 43 states and the District of Columbia.
