Indiana is a laughingstock in this country for our backwards, homophobic, and outright racist state laws, policies, and attitudes. Honestly: How in the world is the Mayor supposed to attract high-paying/high-education jobs to our state to build our economy when this sort of nonsense is what comes up when you google Indiana news? You idiots have set this state back twenty years: Every decision maker in every company that might be worth attracting to our state knows somebody who is gay in their family, has a critical employee who is gay, or may be gay themselves: Do you think they're going to bring the benefit of their enterprise to this redneck state when the community will, seemingly, greet them with pitchforks and torches and cries of "Homo Go Home!"
...is it any more silly than the great Cow installation of Chicago? Might want to have the community more inolved somehow though...?
How funny that this appeared today. I just started reading "A history of the formation, settlement and development of Hamilton County, Indiana, from the year 1818 to the close of the Civil War (1901)" by Augustus Finch Shirts and he told the story of the squirrel migration too ("In the year of 1826 the great emigration of squirrels ocurred...")! So far, it's excellent reading of Hamilton County history.
All they had to do was open the gates and collect the money. they even screwed that up. Not quite sure how they're gonna do it as they're probably on dial-up with a Commodore Amiga 500's on their desks over there at the speed plant. They are real visionaires over at the speedway alrright. backwards as Forest Gump.
