Republic Airways Holdings Inc., which uses regional jets to feed traffic to major airlines, said that its November traffic rose 2 percent.

Republic said Wednesday that it flew almost 1.65 billion passenger mile in November, up from 1.62 billion in November of 2010.

Meanwhile, flying capacity fell 2 percent, to 2.04 billion available seat miles, down from 2.08 billion a year ago. Because traffic rose while capacity fell, its planes were fuller. Load factor rose 3 percentage points, to 81 percent.

For the first 11 months of the year, Republic traffic has fallen 1 percent, to 19.27 billion revenue passenger miles. Capacity is down 1 percent, to 24.08 billion available seat miles. Load factor is unchanged at 80 percent.

Shares of Indianapolis-based Republic fell 19 cents Thursday to close at $3.76 per share.
