Directors of Hulman & Co. have named Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corp. chief Jeffrey G. Belskus president and CEO of
the Terre Haute-based firm, the company announced Friday morning.
Hulman & Co. is the family owned company that oversees the Speedway and IndyCar Series, as well as Clabber Girl Corp.
and other holdings.
Effective Oct. 1, Belskus will replace Curt Brighton, who has accepted a position at another firm, according to a company
press release.
Tony George, former CEO of the Speedway, stepped down as CEO of Hulman & Co. in June 2009 and was replaced by Brighton.
A Terre Haute native, Belskus joined the company in 1987 and was named treasurer in 1989. Functioning as the company’s
chief financial officer, he was promoted to vice president in 1991 and named executive vice president of Hulman and its subsidiaries
in 1994.
“We have great management across all of our business divisions within the company, and I look forward to continuing
to work with our team to ensure continued stability, growth and innovation,” Belskus said in a written statement.
Hulman & Co.'s board was expanded from four to eight directors earlier this year.
Belskus and his wife, Debbie, live in Zionsville. They have two grown children.
