Shelbyville authorities have ruled the death of a 22-month-old a homicide. Jasper Simpson died Tuesday of blunt-force injuries to the head. Police say medics were called to his home in the Martin Estates Apartment complex in Shelbyville Monday night. The caller told the dispatcher the child was not breathing. Jasper was flown to Riley Hospital, where he died the next day. A neighbor said the boy lived with his mother and her boyfriend. Charges have not been filed.
