Ammo causes problems for firefighters

A weekend fire forced firefighters to dodge bullets, after the blaze ignited ammunition left behind from a shooting. The
fire broke out about 11 p.m. Saturday in a home in the 3500 block of North Leland Avenue on Indianapolis’ east side.
Fire crews say that when they arrived, the ammunition, believed to be from a shooting earlier in the day, began to explode.
No firefighters were hurt. A male shooting victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition. An investigation is under
way to see if the two incidents are connected.
