A man told Indianapolis police he was beaten and robbed by two men dressed as “drag queens” early Tuesday morning. The victim said he had just received $700 in cash from a check-cashing store in the 3800 block of East Washington Street, when he was hit in the head with a claw hammer while walking home and robbed. Investigators believe the two men were watching their victim as he entered the check-cashing store. An employee said the two had been in the store earlier that morning. One of the suspects was wearing a red plaid coat. The other had braided red hair.
