Syphilis cases up in Johnson County

An outbreak of syphilis has been reported in Johnson County. So far, 25 confirmed or suspected cases of the disease have been reported. Most of those infected are in their teens to mid-20s. Syphilis cases have been up in Indiana in recent years, with reported cases jumping from 140 statewide in 2008 to 175 in 2010.
