The ask for Indy’s ‘science lab addition’ project is curiously labeled ‘phase 3’ in IU’s presentation.
Maybe it’s time for Ivy Tech to fully co-locate with regional campuses of IU & Purdue where possible? A classroom is a classroom, and the State’s regional universities have excess capacity from declining enrollment anyway..
There also stand to be several ways for The Commission of Higher Ed. to reduce costs across every public institution of higher ed through consolidation. For example, each public college & university individually procures its own word processing software, email provider, learning management software, learning material for ‘Indiana College Core’ classes, and etc. I don’t think that there is a compelling reason not to consolidate costs long these axes. Most state schools end up converging on the same vendors for these products anyway. Microsoft Word, Canvas, and so on.
